It's always interesting to compare salaries, and this survey excerpt provides useful insights into how well tech professionals in the United States have been compensated over the past year.
The Janco Associates, Inc., 2006 IT Salary Survey is out, and it offers some interesting observations about trends within the IT industry. For example it notes that in the first half of 2005, IT hiring was still slow and compensation remained 'flat to lower' for the eighth quarter in a row; the greatest increases in compensation occurred for large enterprise middle management positions; and the greatest decrease was in infrastructure positions within midsize enterprises.
This excerpt from the survey summarizes such trends, looks at positions with the greatest compensation changes, offers nine pages of capsule IT job descriptions, lists average compensation for a variety of job roles, and provides other glimpses of the data available in their full survey.
