Norwegian Government Administration Services (Ft) reports to the Ministry of Modernization and provides common IT and application services for the ministries of the Norwegian Government. The department wanted to streamline identity and access management for its 4,500 users, with a view to creating an integrated system that would simplify the management of user identity information and give users secure and easy access to common systems. Ft began procuring an identity management solution through an EFTA tender and evaluated five suppliers in the final round of negotiations. The organization ultimately selected a Novell identity and access management solution and chose NetWorks, a Novell Gold authorized consultancy partner to design and implement the solution.
