This paper compares effort estimations against their actual values for a software development organization that uses a dynamic type of methodology. This methodology follows an object-oriented approach, is driven by a set of written requirements but does not include strict milestones. The methodology can be adapted depending on the size and architecture of the system. The paper intends to provide management and developers in the organization; a critical view of their current estimation approach, suggests some improvements for estimations, and pinpoints possible problems in the time distribution of the software lifecycle.
