One of the largest bottlers of Coca-Cola products in South Africa, Amalgamated Beverage Industries (ABI) has been committed to Novell's Directory Service (NDS) since its release in NetWare 4.11 some five years ago. ABI believes that NDS gives them the advantage of concentrating on the company's core business of bottling and distributing Coca-Cola products and not spending excessive resources on maintaining their routed network. ABI implemented a directory strategy few years ago, believing that the future of the computer industry would be based around the directory offerings from various vendors. Together with its service partner, Easy Access Computing, ABI has continued with its directory strategy and has grown its network into a well-organised and stable offering to users and partners.
