Legacy Health System is the largest not-for-profit healthcare system in Oregon with 7,800 full- and part-time employees. One of the biggest IT challenges in healthcare is providing doctors with timely, secure access to patient data. By creating a physician portal, Legacy could give doctors single sign-on access to a consolidated view of patient information. Legacy Health System selected PlumTree Enterprise Web Solutions as its portal foundation. Novell Clinical Workstation, a joint Novell and Carefx solution, provides identity management, single sign-on and context management for fast, secure access to patient information. Novell consultants managed the Novell and Carefx portion of the project, helping Legacy create a new physician portal based on the Novell Clinical Workstation solution.
