Joyon Entertainment is one of South Korea's more famous online gaming providers. Joyon was lagging in its handling of sophisticated hacker attacks launched from around the world. The overhead of managing the firewalls and thwarting hacker attacks was a burden on Joyon's technical staff who were being distracted from other tasks. The challenge was to replace legacy Linux-based software firewalls with scalable firewall solution to protect against network intrusion while providing high performance in a real-time online gaming environment. The company tested a number of options, and in the end selected the Juniper Networks NetScreen firewall platform.
