The client is a regional bank and financial holding company with a multi-site office environment and associated distributed telecom network and infrastructure. SecureLogix staff collected the data set for a report during a 110-day product evaluation covering a portion of the client's telecom circuits. It was found that while excepting the 27,659 inbound modem calls confirmed to be ATM transactions, the remaining 67,027 inbound modem calls were cause for extreme concern; as each represented a potential external hacker connection into the corporate data network, voice system or other critical infrastructure via unsecured phone lines and modems inside the enterprise.
