Charter Bank, a community bank located near Detroit in Wyandotte, Michigan, operates eight banking offices and a growing Internet banking business. In the summer of 2000, Charter Bank launched its Internet banking system and found a software product that seemed to compliment its mainframe computer's capabilities. However, the system lacked the firewall protection and monitoring capability the bank required to insure the integrity and protection of vital customer data. Acting on a recommendation, Charter Bank tapped NetSolve to determine how it should configure its Internet firewall, to work with data-processing specialists to get the hardware installed and configured, and to proactively monitor the firewall.
