With 18 million inhabitants North Rhine-Westphalia (N R-W) is the most highly populated of Germany's sixteen regions. The Finance Department was battling to meet public demand for information and assistance with complex tax legislation, and the variety of traditional telephone systems provided and managed by different external suppliers compounded problems. The required a single, more cost-effective system for 30,000 users across the administration's 145 locations that could be managed by the RZF team. RZF has a software-based telephone system that will scale up to the projected 30,000 lines, can be centrally managed and supported, and is open to new applications to meet the Finance Authority's unique requirements.
