Wireless solutions are playing an increasingly important role in creating the "broadband society". The innovator and early adopter phases of the wireless broadband market were characterised by strong relationships between device manufacturers and the mobile operators who have been, and will continue to be, the primary channel to market. As the market moves into its early majority phase, operators will need to embrace new channels such as IT VARs and consumer PC retailers to meet accelerating demand. Successful device manufacturers will be those with the experience and awareness to spot the technological trends and the skill to identify, integrate and package the best mix of technologies to meet the needs and demands of new market segments.
