Smith & Nephew required solutions that were self-service, available 24-hours per day, easily accessible and ready on demand. The goal was to empower members of the sales force and to give them what they need, when they need it. Before working with NoInk, Smith & Nephew was using a Palm platform with proprietary solutions developed internally. After engaging NoInk, Smith & Nephew switched from its custom Palm-based application to NoInk's SalesAccelerator product for its U.S. sales force, which was delivered via the Hewlett-Packard iPAQ PocketPC. Each iPAQ is equipped with Bluetooth technology and many Smith & Nephew representatives have purchased Bluetooth mobile printers and are transitioning to Bluetooth phones for easier connectivity.
