IT organizations need to identify, control, verify, and manage their complex data center environments to meet ITIL and ITSM framework initiatives. The challenge that IT faces is finding and controlling the trees within the forest of their datacenters. The first step with any ITIL initiative is to "Discover" and "Map" the Configuration Items (CIs) and store them in a CMDB and then take action by optimizing and controlling these CIs. nLayers and BladeLogic will show how using a combination of their two solutions, IT organizations can holistically discover and manage change within their data center environment and effectively address key management challenges of cost, complexity, security, and responsiveness.
