Stockport is a metropolitan council that serves 300,000 members of the community. Along with many other local authorities, Stockport has been under constant pressure to ensure that its limited budgets are invested in providing discernible improvements to primary community services, such as social services and education. This focus increasingly meant that the authority's IT infrastructure was becoming overlooked and under funded. This case study forms part of a series that follows the improvements and gains achieved by Stockport e-Service, through their adoption of ITIL and the support of PinkRoccade (now Getronics), the 'ITIL Experts'.
