Established in 1958, Assam State Electricity Board (ASEB) is responsible for the generation, transmission, and distribution of electricity to more than 1.2 million industrial and residential customers across the state of Assam in northeast India. ASEB wanted to automate manual billing processes and enable timely distribution of bills to customers. They wanted to ensure accuracy of billing information and increase transparency of operations. ASEB implemented a robust, flexible Oracle platform that is secure and scalable. The application developed by CMC has been implemented in a few locations and will be rolled out gradually to other locations. They automated ASEB's billing functions with Oracle Database.
