MLT Vacations Inc. is a wholly owned subsidiary of Northwest Airlines Corporation and is one of the largest providers of vacation packages in the United States. The company wanted to improve the availability of business-critical IT systems and Web sites and reduce overall IT costs. They wanted to create a data infrastructure that can scale to meet the company's growing needs. The company implemented Oracle Database and Oracle Real Application Clusters to ensure the reliability and availability of MLT Vacations' reservation system and Web sites and gained flexibility to expand data center and processing capacity cost effectively and rapidly, as needed.
