Established in 1978, the Chennai Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (CMWSSB) provides high-quality water and the safe disposal of sewage and waste water for more than 6 million citizens of Chennai City. The organization wanted to streamline processes to make the board's functions transparent and accountable and establish user-friendly systems and processes to improve customer service. They wanted to introduce new methods of bill payments and new channels to resolve customer queries and complaints. They implemented Oracle E-Business Suite applications to create an integrated, automated system for managing finance and operations which reduced bill processing time by 50%.
