Over the years security surveillance systems have become a part of daily life, an increasingly familiar presence in shopping centres, department stores, malls, the courts, banks, and government and commercial buildings. Now they're literally on the move, with Perth-based Digital Technology International (DTI) is set to take a prime position in the international mobile surveillance system market. DTI has designed and developed a range of digital surveillance products specifically for use in mobile environments. Released in August 2001, DTI's Mobile Digital Recorder-2, known as MDR-2, is a purpose-built digital video and audio recording system incorporating Global Positioning System (GPS) tracking technology, designed to meet all the demands of reliable, safe operation in a moving vehicle.
