With an eye toward continuing growth in data and new regulatory requirements, Premier Farnell, a global distributor of electronic components and industrial products, determined it needed to upgrade its existing headquarters storage infrastructure. Balancing data access and retrieval needs with performance and cost, Premier Farnell selected StorageTek's L700e tape library and BladeStore B220 disk system to enhance disk-to-disk-to-tape backup and restore capability. The existing StorageTek L180 tape library was redeployed at a remote Premier Farnell site to provide an offsite backup vault for business continuity.
