This paper presents the basics of mobile business. The first section of the paper gives a short overview of the available literature. This paper positions mobile business as an extension of electronic business rather than its subset. It is due to the fact that some features, like localization and mobility, are core for the mobile economy but are not available in the framework of electronic business. The third section of the paper focuses on the profitability of mobile application. The second part of the paper deals with the questionnaire conducted to reveal the trends in deployment of mobile technologies for logistics business operations in praxis.
