Triple S, the leading health insurance company in Puerto Rico, established in 1959, processes an average of 1.8 million claims monthly. After 11 years of using a decentralized, manual backup system, Triple S was more than ready for a change. In order to make all operations of this company more efficient, StorageTek implemented a SAN (storage area network), which consists of a StorageTek 9310 tape library, both ESCON and Fibre Channel 9840 tape drives, a VSM system, switches and routers, OS 390 and OS environments from Brocade.
