Colorado's Aims Community College (Aims) helps educate tomorrow's high-tech workers, arming them with the brass-tacks education they need to be successful. With growing data volumes, the College began to overrun its backup window (11 p.m. to 6 a.m.), causing some disruption to end users. Aims also sought to minimize application downtime to ensure business continuity and recover from corrupted data sets that would waste employee labor hours. To meet its non-disruptive backup and restore objectives, Aims beta-tested a StorageTek EchoView E400 Data Protection Appliance which can protect about 400 gigabytes (GBs) of primary storage.
