Since opening its first store in 1962, Rite Aid Corp. has grown to be one of the nation's leading drugstore chains, with more than 3,500 stores in 30 states and the District of Columbia. When Rite Aid's leases on 16 high-speed, high-capacity, non-StorageTek drives ran out, they decided to replace them with drives that offered faster load times, increased reliability, greater capacity and one-to-one mapping of controllers to drives. After a careful comparison between their then current-vendor's offerings and StorageTek's T9840Bs, Rite Aid decided to go with StorageTek.
