The objective of this paper is to provide insight into business development with relation to the make-up of strategy, structure, processes and projects as applied to the modern organisation. Research was done on the theory of how these aspects exist, are managed and implemented individually within the organisation. The project management of business development requires new insight into how strategy, structure, processes and projects interact with one another. Most authors state that project management had its origin in 1958 with the development of the PERT methodology.
