The Accounting and Reporting Console (ARCO) is a module found exclusively in the N1 Grid Engine product from Sun Microsystems. It provides a comprehensive way to collect and analyze extensive detailed statistics of usage on the Grid. It monitors user behavior, to see if those resources being requested are actually being used, or if jobs are being misdirected to computers which are either inappropriate or unnecessarily chosen. ARCO is included with the N1 Grid Engine 6 product at no additional cost, and without any restrictions on grid size. This whitepaper goes into more detail on how ARCO works.
