Sarbanes-Oxley and other new regulations governing financial reporting for publicly owned companies demand a level of transparency, centralization, accountability and accuracy that today is beyond the capabilities of many companies and their finance organizations. Not so for Zebra Technologies, a global leader in on-demand printing solutions for businesses. The company added more expertise to its finance staff, beefed up financial reporting processes and upgraded its information technology systems. As a result, while other companies were trying to figure out where to start with Sarbanes-Oxley regulations, Zebra viewed them as a strategic advantage. Throughout the 1990s, Zebra used Hyperion Enterprise for financial management and reporting, and in 2001 made the decision to adopt Hyperion Financial Management.
