The Virginia State Police needed to find a more cost-effective means of allowing their agency partners access to vital information while meeting new, more stringent national security requirements. The solution needed to be scalable, flexible, facilitate efficient provisioning, and be easily managed. The Virginia State Police - in partnership with Nortel Networks, MCI, the Presidio Corporation, and the Virginia Information Technologies Agency - have introduced a solution featuring Nortel Networks Contivity Secure IP Services Gateways, including two Contivity 4600s at the central site and Contivity 600s, 1700s, and 2700s at 600 remote sites.
