MPRE Real Estate Network needed to provide a VPN so that all sales and rental information is instantly accessible at a single location by MPRE's 20-branch network, and IP telephony to enhance communications and reduce call costs. Consulting firm Steadfast Solutions proposed a converged voice and data network from Nortel - with installation and integration by Nortel channel partner 3D Networks - as the ideal solution to meet MPRE's immediate requirements, as well as providing a smooth migration path for the future. The new network, which would use Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) technology for calls between offices, also promised a significant reduction in telephony costs.
