In Novell ZENworks 6.5 Desktop Management, Novell includes an architectural element known as the ZENworks Middle Tier Server. The middle-tier server is a Web server with ZENworks Web components built on Apache or Internet Information Services (IIS) that provide functions to the workstation agents, allowing them to deliver ZENworks Desktop Management features. This paper discusses the expectations that can be placed on a ZENworks Middle Tier Server. It also discusses methods for enhancing a middle-tier server configuration to provide greater scalability and availability.
