The National Software Centre (NSC) in Cork is fostering the development of innovative, knowledge-intensive companies in Ireland by providing companies with access to a range of business expertise and business development programs. Over time NSC saw how a shortage of suitable office space and infrastructure was impacting small start-ups. To help fill this need the NSC set about building its own multi-tenanted Innovation Centre in Cork providing managed voice and data services as part of the lease. The NSC selected the Nortel Networks Succession Communication Server for Enterprise 1000, a next-generation, Internet Protocol (IP) communication server for all the benefits of a converged network plus advanced applications and over 400 world-class telephony features.
