The Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act requires that the University implement a Safeguarding Program to insure the security and confidentiality of certain customer information, such as student loan-related information, protect against any anticipated threats to the integrity of such information and protect against unwarranted, unlawful and/or unauthorized disclosure, misuse, alteration, destruction or other compromise of such information. The Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act covers the securing and safeguarding of data. Its requirements are additional to those of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).
