The OPC technology provides uniform interfaces for industrial applications to communicate with different field bus protocols. The interface between OPC and MES/Enterprise application needs to be addressed to bridge the gap between real time shop floor data to the enterprise data. Different solutions to address the above-mentioned needs are discussed in this paper. Wipro's XML2OPC solution for remote monitoring and control is also explained.
