Testing software in different possible combinations is a huge task involving a lot of time and effort. The level of complexity involved is very high while designing test cases for a product involving quite a lot of external factors and combinations. Tools like Orthogonal Arrays (OA) and ideas from the Design of Experiments (DOE) can immensely improve software product testing.
