SuSE Linux AG of Nuremberg is one of the leading international suppliers of the Linux open-source operating system. SuSE AG didn't do without backups in the past and used software tailored to the Linux domain. With the increasing scope of security duties, the software began to show weaknesses. Instabilities became ever more frequent, backups were not being correctly made and, what was worse; data restores took up far too much time. Although a new backup solution was desperately needed, SuSE AG set out to select a new program carefully and methodically. At the end of 2002, the decision was made: SuSE AG decided in favour of LEGATO NetWorker, complete with database modules for Oracle and db2, autochanger support, serverless backup and dynamic drive sharing.
