KBC is the second largest financial company in Belgium, born out of a merger between KB Bank, Cera Bank and ABB Insurance in 1998. The challenge was to provide a superior level of IT operational excellence including monitoring and management of IT infrastructure. IBM, realizing that the limitations of the Tivoli suite of products would not allow them to address the specific needs of the complex KBC environment, partnered with IT Masters (recently acquired by BMC Software) to include MasterCell (now known as BMC Event Manager) in the solution. With BMC Event Manager, KBC was able to achieve the desired centralized monitoring capability with local control of the e-business banking infrastructure.
