In the wake of the 9/11 attacks, the City of New York turned to a number of innovative technologies to aid in the recovery effort. This paper reviews how handheld computers using GPS were used to record and track evidence recovered at Ground Zero, as well as the wireless handheld application used to inspect buildings damaged in the attack.
