The Public Safety community has long expressed its need for additional spectrum to accommodate newly emerging advanced broadband technology. For the same reasons that Public Safety users require dedicated spectrum for narrowband and wideband systems, regulators should allocate the 50 MHz of spectrum in the 4940-4990 MHz band to Public Safety for mission critical broadband applications and adopt service rules that consider Public Safety user requirements.
