Network Access Control is a process designed to reduce security incidents and increase compliance by enforcing IT security policies as a prerequisite for network access. Although the term "Network Access Control" is a newly-defined category, Sygate Technologies, Inc., has been a leader in policy enforcement for years, blazing the trail with the first implementations of VPN (IPSec and SSL), LAN (802.1x), and agent Self-Enforcement techniques for Network Access Control. Today, Sygate has many large enterprise customers who have deployed complete NAC solutions. NAC solutions require multiple enforcement methods and policy flexibility to cover the entire enterprise network. Customers should carefully assess their environments and requirements against each possible solution.
