Education Queensland delivers high quality education to more than 70% of all Queensland school students and ensures that the State's school system is well-positioned to meet the challenges of the future. One such challenge was the need to improve the management of user identities to enable a 'whole of life' approach, as well as the consolidation of a growing range of related programs and solutions within the education system which required separate passwords and duplicated user information. In 2003, WebCentral entered into a contract for up to five years, with potential revenue of $20.3m, with Education Queensland to create a Managed Internet Service (MIS) which would help to solve these challenges for all of the State's 1,350 public schools, encompassing more than 550,000 users.
