Developing an Intranet web site is substantially different to developing a public web presence. Intranets are often not an organisational goal in them, but are developed to support the goals of the organisation. To work effectively Intranets need to reflect the organisational culture and communication patterns, and build cohesively on these bases. This paper will identify five key issues that need to address to ensure that people develop an effective Intranet.
