HP's global network of approximately 10,000 suppliers and business partners needed a single, common, and secure access point for obtaining HP resources and services. Over the years, a complex array of separate access points - each with different interfaces - had evolved to serve this globally disparate group. What HP really required was a consolidated access system in order to: reduce the expense and confusion created by redundant communications systems, improve overall security, and deliver a critical element required for an HP Adaptive Enterprise. With top-level executive support, HP Global Operations IT and the HP Services Consulting and Integration team created the HP Supplier Portal in just six months.
