The McCarthy Tetrault law firm needed to change its distributed messaging and directory services infrastructure to a unified model that would help it serve large national and international clients. This enabled the firm to operate more effectively and gain more benefits from a new organizational structure across the firm. McCarthy Tetrault engaged HP Services to upgrade and consolidate the firm's e-mail services from separate, regional Novell GroupWise platforms to a centralized Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 environment with Outlook Web Access. The new environment resides on two clustered HP ProLiant DL580 servers (quad CPUs) and an HP StorageWorks 3000 Enterprise Virtual Array storage area network, delivering higher availability and control plus support of mobile communications.
