CIENA Corporation, the leading provider of optical networking systems for telecommunications companies, selected Castanet to serve as the backbone for delivering a new family of business-critical customer care tools to mobile field service technicians. CIENA wanted to leverage the delivery system used to provide their fiber-optic diagnostic tools, called SmartTools to field service staff when they do not have direct access to the corporate intranet. With the help of Marimba's Castanet, CIENA now expects to achieve that goal.
