Prior to the implementation of Marimba's software, Oxfam's PC environment was managed manually, which meant that IT consultants would have to travel to remote locations to repair damaged PCs or upgrade the software. This process was lengthy and, as a result, Oxfam's communications were frequently delayed. Despite these challenges of targeting remote sites with limited bandwidth, Marimba's Desktop/Mobile Management products will automatically distribute applications and updates, which also can be managed from a central location. Marimba's software will be used to manage Oxfam's IT infrastructure that supports more than 80 development aid projects, including remote locations from around the world.
