This study aims to build a deeper understanding of the changes taking place within the engineering sector, the factors that are dominant in those changes and the implications of those changes for skill requirements in the UK. The issues have been explored by looking at how the case study establishments devised their product market strategies, and the relationships between business strategy, human resources strategy and investment in human capital through training and employee development.
