Prior to 1998 the United States Coast Guard had a combination of 27 systems and subsystems in support of CG Human Resource Management. With approximately 43,000 active duty and 7,000 reserve military members, 7,000 civilian employees, and 25,000 retirees being managed at 165 administrative sites both in and out of the continental United States, CG HR was inefficient, unreliable, and expensive to operate and maintain. Aggregate reporting was cumbersome and unreliable. Since 1998 CIBER has been working with the Coast Guard to implement PeopleSoft HRMS as a consolidated replacement for the outdated, disparate legacy systems. CIBER is providing the U.S. Coast Guard with both technical and functional expertise.
