This paper examines how the segregation of women into certain occupations, industries, establishments, and job cells impacts the male-female wage differential of full-time, salaried, private sector workers in Denmark. To investigate this issue, the Integrated Database for Labour Market Research is used for the years 1983 and 1995. The data set is rich in both worker and establishment characteristics, and is based on registers that contain labor market information for the entire Danish population.
