Phone Directories Company (PDC), publisher of 130 yellow pages and business directories in Canada, the western United States, and Alaska, implemented Oracle Collaboration Suite in August 2003-integrating the company's e-mail, scheduling, file sharing, and other communications functions on a single, cost-effective platform. A study by technology management consultant Mainstay Partners showed that PDC gained significant benefits from the Oracle implementation--including faster collaboration with business partners and more efficient internal communications-that are helping to reduce PDC's travel, printing, and sales support costs. The integrated Oracle-on-Linux platform also allows PDC to run its communications system with a minimum of IT staff, contributing to the savings.
