Macromedia Generator is a server software solution that composites, produces and delivers visual content on the fly. Generator is a Web server production application that can dynamically combine text, graphics and sound to build rich-media content, and deliver the final product in a variety of animated or static formats. With Generator, designers work in Macromedia Flash to create templates that contain variable elements (graphics, text and sound) to be replaced with content provided by a data source which can be a comma delimited text file, a URL that references a comma-delimited text file (either an actual file or a CGI script that returns a text file), a result set from SQL query passed through a JDBC/ODBC connection, or even a Java class.
