This paper describes two areas of achievement in the Department of the Interior's (DOI) management of its most vital asset: the people who comprise its dedicated and talented workforce. The paper summarizes the wide array of actions that have been taken across the Department over the last year to meet a number of major, Department-wide challenges. The paper also highlights the results of the Department's first comprehensive workforce planning effort conducted by all eight Interior bureaus using a unified framework.
