The healthcare industry is faced with a growing number of regulations mandating how it does business. These regulations seldom come with funding or extended assistance from the regulating agencies, leaving healthcare businesses to implement solutions on their own. The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA) is good example.
